The People vs. Project 2025 is an artistic\, populist and public expression of the work being done by many activist community and political advocacy organizations working to oppose the administration of President Donald Trump and what is a dangerous Christian Fundamentalist dogma fronted by the Heritage Foundation.\nFeaturing Arts Performance Actions by: Amos White\, Basma Edrees\, Bellamy Ackrell\, Christine Kammler\, Dance Brigade\, Extinction Rebellion\, Genny Lim\, Kimi Sugioka\, Our Teatro/Cosmovisión\, Peggy Morrison\, STEAMROLLER Dance Company and the Wandering Ensemble\, “We Got The Power” is a free participatory event – though people can show up to be spectators as well if they wish to. The event is divided into segments. Most attendees will be participating in a flash dance activity titled after the name of the event\, “We Got The Power” starting at 12:00pm. Individuals interested in taking part in the flash dance\, please RSVP and a rehearsal schedule will be sent to you. Or it is possible to learn the flash dance choreography on-site at Civic Center Plaza starting at 10:00am on the day of the event. There will also be a participatory procession and a poetry and spoken word stage starting at 11:00am. It’s more than a celebration — it’s a testament to the spirit of a community that refuses to let go of connection\, compassion\, or joy. \nEl Sobrante is a vibrant\, diverse\, and resilient place. We are Black\, Latino\, Asian\, Indigenous\, white\, LGBTQIA+\, straight\, immigrant\, multigenerational\, disabled\, neurodivergent — and we show up for each other. In our little corner of Contra Costa County\, help is often just a shout away\, and friendly conversations still happen across fences and front porches. \nWhat makes us unique is not just our diversity\, but our deep respect for it. We don’t always agree\, and that’s okay — we allow room for discourse\, curiosity\, and growth. We hold tight to the values that anchor us: community\, kindness\, and the radical idea that *everyone* belongs. \n**El Sobrante Pride 2025** will feature: \n* 🎶 Live entertainment from local performers and DJs\n* 🏳️‍🌈 Dozens of vendors\, community groups\, and local nonprofits\n* 🍔 Family-friendly activities and food trucks\n* 🗣️ Community speakers who reflect the heart of our neighborhoods\n* 🤝 Representation from local leaders\, public safety officials\, and youth voices \nLast year’s inaugural event was a beautiful reminder that Pride isn’t just about visibility — it’s about *community resilience*.
