SUMMARY:Read In Ten Fall Cohort Begins: Ten Minutes a Day of Early Reading
DESCRIPTION:Read In Ten is an eight week reading program for parents of kids ages 3 to 5\, whether your child is in preschool and heading toward kindergarten\, already in TK\, or in their kindergarten year. Ten minutes a day\, a parent and a child at the kitchen table. No apps\, no worksheets\, and no screens for the child. \nEach Friday you get that week’s game\, a short video showing you how to play it\, and the reason it works. The program moves through three phases: hearing sounds\, cracking the code\, and building confidence. Every family starts with a one on one assessment\, so the games meet your child where they actually are. A 3 year old who is just starting to hear rhymes and a 5 year old sounding out words both have a place in it. \nThe fall cohort runs October 5 through December 18. There is no activity the week of Thanksgiving\, and the program finishes before winter break. December is a hard month to hold a routine\, which is why the last stretch is games your child already knows how to play. \nEnrollment closes September 25. Early bird pricing of $650 runs through September 4. \nCurious first? readinten.com/sample is a free five minute game you can try tonight\, no signup.

SUMMARY:What Should I Take? Making Informed Choices About Dietary Supplements and Herbal Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Approximately 1 in 5 adults uses a plant-based herbal supplement\, and 1 in 2 uses a vitamin or mineral product. Many people do not tell their health care providers about the supplements they are taking. This communication gap can increase the risk of interactions with prescription medications\, existing health conditions\, and other treatments. As the use of dietary supplements continues to grow\, it is important for people to understand how to evaluate these products\, recognize their potential benefits and risks\, and identify which supplements are supported by strong scientific evidence. Accessing reliable\, evidence-based information can help everyone make safer\, more informed decisions about their health. \nChaired by UCSF School of Pharmacy faculty\, this four-week course will help participants learn essential tips for dietary supplement selection and evidence-based information on the effectiveness and potential risks for supplements and herbals commonly used for longevity\, heart health\, bone health\, and other uses.

SUMMARY:Peter Pan Goes Wrong
DESCRIPTION:By Henry Lewis\, Henry Shields & Jonathan Sayer Directed by Susi Damilano The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is back\, and this time they’re taking on Peter Pan. It’s their most ambitious production yet\, complete with flying rigs\, sword fights\, and a very real crocodile problem. What could possibly go wrong? As technical mishaps pile up and tempers flare\, the cast battles to keep the show on track while everything around them spectacularly falls apart. Lines are forgotten\, scenery refuses to cooperate\, and rivalries spill onto the stage in real time. From the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong\, this riotous comedy delivers nonstop mayhem\, perfectly timed chaos\, and the kind of theatrical disaster you have to see to believe. “Wildly funny! Susi Damilano’s direction is dazzling … [the cast] are so good they could practically be a farce repertory company.” [Lily Janiak\, San Francisco Chronicle](https://www.sfchronicle.com/entertainment/theater/article/peter-pan-goes-wrong-review-22454524.php) “It’s hard to imagine the comedy could get much funnier. This play goes wildly right!” Jean Schiffman\, Bay City News
