DESCRIPTION:Join us for our March Open House & Clothes Swap: an afternoon of art\, local makers\, hands-on creativity\, and community. \nWander through San Francisco’s largest industrial art space\, explore our outdoor sculpture yard and 140+ murals and peek inside working artist studios. \nIn March we are hosting a Clothes Swap – a great chance to make space in your closet\, release some clothes (or shoes or home goods) into the circular economy\, and try some new looks.\nDon’t worry if you don’t have surplus clothes – bring something for our potluck snack table\, or just donate to support. There are always plenty of clothes left at the end!\nPull up a chair to the Art Table led by Hallie McConlogue:\n“How to Hack your clothes\, Tricks and techniques for how to hack your outfit into something that fits you perfectly and fits any century\, country or imaginary world.\nExamples will be on display with an experienced clothing hacker/costumer. Hallie will be happy to show you what you can do at home: From hemming pants -to- gluing together a 7 foot fish costume -to- how to easily make custom corset patterns. Come have fun with shapes and materials… the easy way.”\nHallie has been a professional sculptor for over 30 years. With a background in Costuming\, wood\, cad\, Claymation\, costuming\, welding\, theater and jewelry\, there is no medium she hasn’t enjoyed playing around in with people. More than anything she loves setting people free with their art.\nTour our 140+ murals – the largest collection in San Francisco! Only a few months left to see them as the entire Box Shop prepares to move to its new location in the Fall. \nWe welcome All Ages and the event is Free – no ticketing necessary. Bring a friend!
