The Social Skills group is designed to help 3rd to 5th-grade girls develop essential social skills through engaging, evidence-based strategies. The program is divided into two five-week sections, allowing participants to choose one or both based on their interests and needs.
Part 1: Building Positive Friendships (Tuesdays @ 4-5 PM | Feb 25 – Mar 25, 2025)
Focuses on establishing the foundations for building and maintaining positive friendships. Participants will learn how to engage in friendships in an authentic and fulfilling way.
Part 2: Navigating Social Challenges (Tuesdays @ 4-5 PM | Apr 15 – May 13, 2025)
Addresses navigating tricky social interactions and repairing friendship mishaps. Strategies for managing overwhelming situations and gaining confidence in resolving conflicts will also be explored.
Throughout both programs, participants will engage in role-play, interactive games, small group discussions, and individual reflection. They will discover the science behind belonging, receive tips for effective communication, practice reflective listening, and learn empathetic strategies for mending conflicts.
The goal of the group is for each participant to leave feeling empowered and confident in their ability to navigate social dynamics and build solid, healthy friendships.
Each program lasts five weeks, and participants can sign up for Part 1, Part 2, or both courses. This is a fun and supportive experience that fosters social growth.
