Mid-Peninsula Moms Blog is officially one year old! We’ve had so much fun this past year building our community of local moms, and we want to keep growing so we can bring you even more insightful and relatable articles, Facebook Lives, community events, and more.
Become a Writer
Are you a new mom, veteran mom, small business owner, or an expert in a parenting field? YOU have something interesting to say to fellow moms. We know it, so consider joining our team. Maybe you’ve got an incomparable funny bone that will give us a good laugh or have a way with words to tug at our heartstrings. Share your wisdom and your struggles so other moms don’t feel so alone. Not sure what to write about? We have lots of ideas and not enough time to write them all down! No professional writing experience is necessary but strong writing skills are important.
Find Other Ways to Get Involved
Maybe long-form articles aren’t your thing, but you’re a great meme creator, graphic artist, a Pinterest whiz, love coordinating playdates and events, or are looking for a way to showcase your photography. There are lots of ways you might fit on our team!
This is a great opportunity to build your network of local moms. Some of us are here as a hobby and some of us do this as an extension of our professional lives. Reach out, tell us how you’re interested in getting involved, and we can share more details. Email Rebecca@sanfranciscomomsblog.com or get in touch with us through our submission page.

7 Things to Know About Having Kids Close in Age
“Just as there are pros and cons to spacing kids far apart, there are pros and cons to condensing the child-rearing years, too. Here’s what to expect.”
Playing Kidz Bop in the Car and Other Things I Won’t Do for My Kids
“My kids are a huge part of my life, but they are not the center of the universe. The faster they learn this, the easier time they’ll have adjusting to life outside of our cozy family bubble. So, here are the things I guiltlessly don’t do for my kids.”
It’s Man Cold Season… Are You Prepared?
“But all of it with the kids – all the months of fevers, rough nights, oozing fluids, and doctor visits – all of it pales in comparison to the single biggest nightmare of the cold & flu season. That’s right ladies, I’m referring to the dreaded man cold.”
I’m on Royal Wedding Watch Because Meghan Markle Was My KKG Sorority Sister
“Full disclosure, Meghan was a Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority sister of mine at Northwestern University in the early 2000’s. Even then, as most of us gained 15 pounds and generally embarrassed ourselves socially on a weekly basis, Meghan was a class act.”
The Ups and Downs of Having Kids in My 40s
“As I lie here with a bag of frozen peas on my lower back because I now have a muscle strain/spasms due to lifting my 30-pound two-year-old, I am feeling a little down about having my last two babies in my 40’s.”
The Way We Speak to Our Kids Matters
“I have to say, I would never want to live with someone who talked to me like that! If I spoke to my friends that way, I don’t think I would have any left. And I can’t imagine the level of resentment, anger and sadness my husband would feel towards me if I used that tone with him regularly.”
Who Is Cardi B and Other Things You Missed While You Were Momming
“I’m out of the loop, and I blame my kids. While I’ve been momming, all sorts of new and interesting things have been happening. I barely have enough time to stay current on world events, let alone keeping tabs on the latest trends in celebrities, lingo, fashion, apps, ugh. . . my 35-year-old self is tired just thinking about it all.”
“Based on whether or not you have food allergies, you will see food very differently. To those without food allergies, food is social and celebratory. The safety of food is usually assumed. To food allergy families, food can still be these things, but it is much more complex. Food can be enjoyed, but doing so requires being diligently informed and careful in order to be safe. If you don’t have a food allergy, food is just something tasty, not a potentially loaded gun.”
Dear Husband: I See You Every Day, But I Miss You
“I never thought this would happen to us. From the beginning, we’ve been told we were the perfect couple. Happy, in love, kind to one another. We have always been respectful and supportive of each other. We see eye to eye on so many things, we rarely fight. Our marriage seemed almost too easy. But maybe being too easy it what has made it so easy, slowly, over time, for me to stop noticing you.”
When You Think You Need to Fire Your Nanny
“Ok, so let’s be clear from the beginning – If you think you might need to fire your nanny, you do. ”
