8 Yoga Poses Your Kids Can Do At Home

0

Yoga is a great way to pass the time indoors while keeping your kids moving and stretching. The Bay Area shelter in place order has definitely been hard on families, but as we enter into the second week, we’re starting to find a few things that really work. Yoga is definitely on that list!

Here are eight yoga poses that you and your kids can do at home!

Half Moon Pose

Using a wall to help balance, stand on one foot and one hand (from the same side of the body) while lifting the other foot and the other hand!

Dog Pose

This classic yoga pose done on all fours brings fresh oxygen to the brain and lets blood circulate through the whole body.

Snake Pose

This pose feels so good! It stretches the stomach muscles and feels good on the lower back. Have fun hissing like a snake when you do this one.

Basket Pose

This pose stretches the whole body, making you feel refreshed and awake!

Mantra: I am Loved

Close your eyes and repeat the mantra three times. Positive thinking is a very tool powerful for our kids!

Seated Calm Pose

Simply sitting down and taking a few breaths lets kids relax and refocus. Try this one when your child just can’t seem to calm down.

Tree Pose

To keep your balance, stare at something in front of you that is not moving.

Warrior 2

This pose builds leg strength and it’s harder than it looks!

Voila, you just did an art activity! Now it’s time for yoga: Set your kids up in a nice cozy corner with some peaceful music and maybe some lavender diffusing nearby.
