Gift Ideas for YOUR Holiday Wish List

I spend so much time thinking about what gifts to buy for my children and family members around the holidays that when someone asks me what I want, I’m usually stumped. The good news: I don’t need anything. And truth be told, I’m not a big present person anyway. I’ll never turn down a gift, mind you, but my husband and I rarely exchange presents for, really, anything. We prefer to celebrate special occasions with some sort of experience instead—a dinner out, a weekend getaway, hosting a party, you get the idea.

Still, this means I rarely stop to think about what I’d like to have, and that leaves my well-intentioned gift givers to fend for themselves. A lot of times, this works out well. I LOVE seeing what other people pick for me, but I know that when I’m lacking gift inspiration to buy for someone else, I really appreciate when the gift recipient points me in the right direction. So, this year, I’m doing just that.

I indulged in some online window shopping to pull together my personal holiday wish list—and I do mean wish list because some of these items are pretty extravagant. I’m sharing it here in case it helps you build your own wish list or gives you gift ideas for the lucky ladies on your shopping list. Is there an item you absolutely LOVE that should be on my list? Let me know about it in the comments!

Bodum Copper French Press

$50

Full disclosure: I already own a French Press and my husband is the one who uses it the most, but our current one is boring black. This one is COPPER, and I love the way it looks.

Bodum Copper Milk Frother

$30

What pairs well with a new copper French Press? A copper Milk Frother! I love chai lattes, and I think it would be fun to make them at home. Bonus: I’m pretty sure I can enlist my kids to do the frothing.

Burberry Elbow Patch Sweater

$350

I have always loved elbow patches. When I was little, my dad had a blazer with patches, and I thought it was such a cool look. And yet, I’ve never owned anything with elbow patches myself. Maybe this is the year to change that! This crew neck wool sweater from Burberry is pricey, but it’s a classic look that will never go out of style.

Birdies The Starling Slipper

$120-140

My friend swears by these slippers for putting around the house and also for going out and about. The smoking slipper style came about in the 1800’s as at-home entertaining shoes, and Birdies has improved on the original. They are comfortable, chic, and come in fabulous patterns and colors. This burgundy pair would be a huge upgrade from the stinky sneakers I currently wear when I’m hanging at home.

LODIS Los Angeles Convertible Leather Backpack

$348

I retired my diaper bag last year and am in the market for a new, stylish, practical everyday bag. This one caught my eye because it’s convertible—wear it as a backpack (perfect for travel), handbag, or crossbody bag. Plus, it’ll fit my computer for when I’m doing work on the go. This army green color called to me, but it comes in some other chic hues as well.

Kendra Scott Kacey Adjustable Pendant Necklace

$65

I owned a similar necklace to this one and wore it all the time. Because it’s length is adjustable it went with pretty much everything in my wardrobe and the neutral color complimented anything I wore. And now it’s gone. I have no idea how I misplaced it, but I miss it—and it’s time for a new one! The best part about Kendra Scott jewelry is how customizable it is, so if this combo isn’t calling to you, check out all of the other options.

Sweaty Betty Double Duty Reversible Yoga Leggings

$120

I’ve been loyal to Lululemon for quite some time, but my friend recently sold me on how comfortable Sweaty Betty leggings are, and I want to give them a try. I live in leggings for the first part of each day (okay, sometimes all day), and I  love that this pair is reversible. One side is patterned and the other is plain black.

Ecco Soft 7 Sneaker

$149.95

I’m not sure if I can pull off the all-white sneaker look, but I’m ready to give it a try. I’m on my feet for most of the day, and comfy kicks are crucial. These have great reviews, look sharp, and also come in a bunch of other colors.

Caslon Cashmere Gauze Scarf

$149.00

I have a closet full of scarves, and, yet, I want more. Most of my scarves have a pattern to them, which I love, but I’d also like to have a few neutral options. This heathered gray cashmere scarf is lightweight so I can stay warm on a chilly day without overheating.

The North Face Crescent Hooded Pullover

$99

This is not your average hoodie. The plaid pattern, shawl collar, and toggle closures give this fleece pullover so much style. I feel like I could throw this over a t-shirt, wear my new Sweaty Betty leggings (on the solid black side), and slip on my white Ecco sneakers and look totally put together for a day of running errands and tending to the kids.

T3 Styling Wand

$270

I am not very good at styling my hair. I either wear it in a ponytail or straight down. I’ve never mastered a curling iron and don’t bother with a straightener, but I’ve been intrigued by this styling wand ever since watching my friend Kelly demonstrate how to use it on YouTube. Maybe this is the answer to my hairstyle hangups.

HSH x SENSEI Custom Embroidered Sweaters

Price varies by design

I designed a custom sweater from HSH x SENSI for my husband as a Father’s Day gift, and now I want one, too! For him, I had my initials and our children’s embroidered on the inside cuff of his sweater. (He wears the sweater all the time!) The fun part about the process is that I got to collaborate on the design through consultation with Principal and Owner of HSH Interiors, Holly Hollenbeck. The embroidery is done on 100% cashmere sweaters by local handwork artisans, so it is truly a special and well-made gift. Get inspired by HSH Interiors gallery of designs or create something one-of-a-kind.

I have to admit, curating this list was a lot of fun. Typically, the only time I shop online is when I’m on a mission to find a very specific item. Getting to compile an entire list of stuff I’d just like to have was a treat, and if I end up receiving just one of these things, that’ll be icing on the cake. What’s the number one item on your wish list this year?
