## **Community Holds Onto Pride**

**El Sobrante, CA – August 2025** — In a world that sometimes feels divided and uncertain, the El Sobrante and May Valley communities are coming together once again to celebrate something powerful: *Pride — in ourselves, in each other, and in our neighborhoods.*

On **Sunday, September 28, 2025**, from **12:00 to 5:00 PM**, the second annual **El Sobrante Pride Festival** will take place at **La Moine Park (known affectionately as Cheese Park)** in Richmond. It’s more than a celebration — it’s a testament to the spirit of a community that refuses to let go of connection, compassion, or joy.

El Sobrante is a vibrant, diverse, and resilient place. We are Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous, white, LGBTQIA+, straight, immigrant, multigenerational, disabled, neurodivergent — and we show up for each other. In our little corner of Contra Costa County, help is often just a shout away, and friendly conversations still happen across fences and front porches.

What makes us unique is not just our diversity, but our deep respect for it. We don’t always agree, and that’s okay — we allow room for discourse, curiosity, and growth. We hold tight to the values that anchor us: community, kindness, and the radical idea that *everyone* belongs.

**El Sobrante Pride 2025** will feature:

* 🎶 Live entertainment from local performers and DJs
* 🏳️‍🌈 Dozens of vendors, community groups, and local nonprofits
* 🍔 Family-friendly activities and food trucks
* 🗣️ Community speakers who reflect the heart of our neighborhoods
* 🤝 Representation from local leaders, public safety officials, and youth voices

Last year’s inaugural event was a beautiful reminder that Pride isn’t just about visibility — it’s about *community resilience*. This year, we’re doubling down on that promise: that *we are still here*, still proud, and still celebrating.

As organizers, neighbors, and friends, we invite everyone to join us — whether you live in El Sobrante or just wish you did. Bring your lawn chair, your dancing shoes, and your open heart. Because around here, *community is everything*, and *Pride is forever*.
