The Rosales Sisters’ Scholarship was created by the six daughters of Abel and Maria Rosales, two immigrants originally from Zacatecas, Mexico who grew up in Watsonville. The sisters established the scholarship in 2019 to provide support to first generation and immigrant high school seniors. It was also to honor the Watsonville and Aptos High School communities that raised them.
Olga Rosales happens to be one of our San Francisco Bay Area Mom contributors. She and her sisters are doing amazing things in order to help set these high school seniors up for success as they enter college. These deserving students are extremely grateful for the support of the Rosales Sisters and those that support the scholarship.
As the Rosales Sisters’ Scholarship continues to grow (they are in the process of becoming a 501c3) they are growing their network not only through support, but also through awareness of the needs of first generation and immigrant youth. They will be holding a Comedy Night Fundraiser with comedian Franco Marcos on October 23rd, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Oakstop in Oakland.
