Earth Day and the Great Race for Saving Water

Marine Science Institute Earth Day on the Bay

Earth Day Screening and Reception

An educational event on current topics related to climate change and how technology may help to solve this crisis. There will be screening a documentary film “The New Fire,” about the ways in which fourth generation nuclear energy technologies may help in fighting climate change. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with the filmmaker, David Schumacher, and a distinguished panel of speakers including Ken Caldeira from Stanford, Ross Koningstein from Google, and others. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Come join the fun with the Alum Rock Park Rangers and the Youth Science Institute for an Earth Day celebration. Volunteers start at 9:00 am giving back to Earth and Alum Rock Park with different volunteer projects. All are welcome to enjoy Earth Day festivities with the Youth Science Institute and Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, learn about local pollinators, sustainable gardening, see live animals, and offset our carbon footprint by planting native seeds and a ceremonial tree at the end of the event.
