Everyone loves a birthday! This season’s Disney on Ice was the ultimate birthday party: 100 Years of Magic. For my four-year-old, it was nothing short of pure magic. There was a wide range of ages attending the show, but my daughter was the prime Disney princess target audience. We had no shortage of excitement in the days and hours leading up to the show. The last time we attended Disney on Ice it was the Follow Your Heart show, and it was all about the princesses. This time Mickey and Minnie were the MC’s and introduced all their friends and princesses.
My daughter and her best friend loved all of the costumes the other guests were wearing, too. Since the show started late, they came in their pajamas, but I would recommend kids dressing in their favorite Disney character. It only added to the magic seeing many Annas, Elsas, and Jasmines running around.
The show featured all the favorites like Dory and Nemo, The Lion King, even Pinocchio, but, of course, it was dominated by the crowd pleasers: the princesses! The whole audience was singing to all the big songs, and it was difficult to find a child who wasn’t smiling ear to ear. The first half was about an hour, followed by a short intermission, and a 45 minute second half. Overall, a great length to keep the kids’ attention.
The night was one of my daughter’s most memorable, and she went to sleep with dreams of Anna, Elsa, Snow White, and Cinderella skating through her head. Thank you, Minnie, Mickey, and all of Disney for a magical evening.
