Lunchbox Ideas for Halloween Fun

Try one these cute ideas to “spook” up your child’s lunch box. They’re also perfect for kid-friendly Halloween parties! 

Mummy Pizza English Muffins

Take an English muffin and cut it in half.  Then, spoon marinara sauce on top of the bread. I added spinach over the sauce, but you can add pepperoni or any other veggies you want. Then peel a mozzarella cheese stick into pieces, and lay them on top- make sure to leave a space to put the olive eyes. Finally add 2 olive eyes, and place the muffins on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or silicone mats. Bake at 400-degrees for 15 mins. Good job, Mummy!

Banana Ghost

In this lunchbox, you can see the finished Mummy Pizza, and I included a “Banana Ghost” with two mini chocolate chips for eyes, and Annie’s Halloween Bunny Grahams.

Pumpkin Bolani Flatbread

Bolani Flatbreads are delicious flatbreads made locally in Concord! They are so yummy and healthy. I love eating them myself for a quick lunch, and they are a perfect healthy lunch to give my son. They come in Spinach, Lentil, Pumpkin and Potato flavors. I’ve seen them sold at Farmer’s markets, local grocery stores, and now at Costco! 

Use a pumpkin shaped cookie cutter (or ghost, cat, etc.) to make a Halloween shape from the Pumpkin Bolani Flatbread. Then cut up black olives and make eyes, a nose, and a mouth to look like a jack-o- lantern. In this particular lunchbox,  I also included a mix of orange and black colored snacks: Cuties oranges and black olives.  

Spider PB&J Sandwiches

I used crackers but you can also use bread—just cut them into circles. Spread one side with jelly and the other with peanut butter. Leave them open face. Then break pretzel sticks in half and make 8 spider legs, 4 on each side of the peanut butter cracker. Then, place the jelly cracker on top and press down just a little to get them to stick together. Lastly, spread a small amount of the peanut butter on top and place chocolate chips for two eyes.

In this lunchbox, I also included a Cutie orange that I drew on with sharpie to make a jack-o- lantern face and a mini Babybel that I made into a monster by gluing googly eyes onto the wax part and cutting out a jagged mouth.

Treats to give out to class friends:

I put these treats together inside a Halloween treat bag that I got from the Dollar section at Target. I added a printed cute Halloween tag tied with some Halloween ribbon to give out to my son’s classmates at school!

• Annie’s Crackers or any flavor treat that comes in a festive package
• Applesauce Mummies: Wrap white crepe paper around the applesauce pouch taping down the first and last pieces. Then, glue on two googly eyes (lay flat to dry so the eyes don’t fall down) and using a black sharpie draw a mouth onto the crepe paper.
• Jack-o-Lantern Cuties: Use a black sharpie to draw on a jack-o- lantern face!
