I’ve never heard of a place more aptly named. Here’s the scoop: you walk in to your local Dream Dinners location, don an apron, are led to a counter top with ingredients on it, follow basic assembly directions and an hour later walk out with a freezer full of delicious meals. No lie. And no clean up!
The idea is genius, and I was lucky enough to try it recently. I took my 12-year-old son, and we had a great time making six tasty dinners that we selected beforehand. The lovely employees quickly told us how Dream Dinners works and then quietly cleaned up behind us or assisted us as needed. My son drooled over every meal we assembled and couldn’t wait to try them all!
We started with Pub Style Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, and it was simple. We grabbed a plastic baggie of already portioned out frozen chicken breasts then followed a recipe card that listed the marinade ingredients to place inside the baggie. All the ingredients were perfectly organized on the counter with the exact measuring spoon placed inside each container. Scoopety, scoop, scoop, and we were done.
After that, we placed the sealed chicken bag into a larger empty bag. Then added separate baggies of toppings (bacon and cheese) and sauce (ranch and green onions). Last, we grabbed an already portioned out baggie of mashed potatoes and added that in as well. After the food was packed, we placed a card in the bag that listed what was inside and how to cook it. Within ten minutes, we were one meal down.
An hour later, we had prepared:
Turkey Florentine Burgers on Pretzel Buns (Outstanding – in addition to other perfect seasonings, they call for cheese in the meat, which brought it to another level.)
Old Fashioned Meatloaf with Twice Baked Potatoes (So flavorful, and everyone asked for seconds.)
Kentucky Pork Chops (It was my first time using liquid smoke in a recipe, and I wanted to spritz the BBQ smell right onto my wrists.)
Italian Stuffed Shells (Genius because the frozen shells come already stuffed, which is the part that prevents me from ever making them at home.)
Homemade Turkey Parmesan Meatballs with Cavatappi (Again with the oozing flavorful cheese…yum.)
The meals went into the freezer as soon as we got home and every day I’d move one bag into the refrigerator to thaw in time for dinner that night. Each recipe card tells you how long it takes from fridge to table and also suggests what to serve alongside.
All the nutritional information is on the website as well additional details about how the process works. If you are too busy to go in and make your meals yourself, Dream Dinners will even put them together for you.
The experience was so great. My whole family thanks you, Dream Dinners!
