Hella MomVersations started as San Francisco Bay Area Mom’s first podcast in March 2022. I’ve been your host for this show, and I’ve learned a great deal about producing a podcast, interviewing professionals, and collaborating with long-time contributing writers of SFBAM.

When we started this show, we surmised that the easiest way to produce it was to record it on Zoom, edit out fumbles in post, and then share it within a month on social media. Producing the show this way allowed us to coordinate with interviewees, and SFBAM contributing writers and to align our sponsors with specific shows. This worked as a functioning format. However, while we paused the show for the summer months, I took the time to play back some of our previous shows. I wanted to listen to shows that worked best. What I found was that our live-in-person content was the most engaging.
Our anniversary show was recorded LIVE on March 2023, and last year’s October 2022 Bloom Event in Walnut Creek was also recorded LIVE. Both shows were fun because the conversations between SFBA-Moms flowed smoothly. We engaged with listeners on Insta-LIVE and talked to moms at the Bloom event. Our mom-jokes landed perfectly, and the vibe between us was fire.
