We asked our contributors to share one of their child’s all-time favorite toys to help you build a holiday gift list that will be a hit. After all, toys are expensive, and if we’re buying them, we want to find something that kids will enjoy playing with for a long time. Our contributors’ children range in age from infants to school-aged children, so stay tuned, as we add more suggestions to our Favorite Toys Round Up. In the meantime, you can also check out our Holiday Gift Guide and our list of 50 Timeless Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers.
My kids favorite joint toy (3 and 5 years old) is MAGNATILES! They can build together, get creative, and incorporate their legs and trains into the building with the Magnatiles. While a little heavy, they also travel neatly! There are a ton of different sets, so you can make even more complex builds. As a parent, I love that it is totally technology free! It is also important that my kids learn to work together and this has proven to be the only toy that works. One will be the architect and designer, while the other has to learn to follow instructions and not always be in charge. Then (hopefully) they switch! It’s awesome to see their imagination grow. I love seeing the crazy contraptions they come up with.
