Friday Faves & Finds (3.16.18)

week in reviewHi! Kate and Laura have been at the reins of these weekly wrap-ups, while I’ve been writing them for Mid-Peninsula Moms Blog. I’m excited to be up here this week, too, to say hi to all of you!

Don’t mind me, as I obsessively check my mailbox for notice of my daughter’s SFUSD kindergarten school assignment. They’re supposed to be mailed out today, and I’m anxious to know where she got assigned. I wrote about the stress of starting the process back in the fall, and it’s a little unbelievable that we’re towards the end of it already. Well, maybe… it depends on whether we need to appeal the assignment. *sigh* Who else is in my shoes?

Let’s distract ourselves by talking about some of the things that caught my eye this week from around the web.

These Irish-inspired drinks are a must make to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday! The Irish Cream Hot Chocolate sounds particularly delicious as I sit here writing this on a dreary day.

One word for you if you indulge too much on Saturday: Pedialyte. These powder packs are the best to have on hand for sick kids, traveling, or the occasional hangover

Look at these Irish Car Bomb cupcakes from a bakery in Raleigh, NC. Will someone figure out how to reverse engineer these and bring some over to me?

Did you have to address Wednesday’s school walkouts with your children? How was it handled at their school?

I totally forgot to fill out a bracket for March Madness this year, but I’m definitely participating in our Mommy Madness tournament

In case you missed it. . .

Wendi, one of our Mid-Peninsula contributors guest posted for us to share eight signs you might be ready for the suburbs

Jen explained how to enjoy sugar-free Easter with your kids, including oodles of ideas for Easter baskets and egg stuffers.

Sysamone gives advice on how to have an amicable split from your spouse or partner.

Inger shares eleven fun things to do with kids in Half Moon Bay, and now I’m ready to use my Marriott points to book a night at the Ritz.

Amy walks us through how to make this adorable custom California tee in just three steps.

And down on the Peninsula…

Forgoing the Cry It Out Method to co-sleep with the kids; tips and favorite products for flying with babies and toddlers; what it’s really like to raise young kids who are close in age; a list of local running routes for your solo runs and stroller jogs.
