How Kids Can Halloween and Avoid COVID-19

0

We recently sat down with Dr. Christina Johns, a pediatric urgent care physician, to talk about Halloween 2020. We covered the challenges parents are faced with when trying to celebrate the spooky season and balance the health and safety of their children.

She reminds us that there are simple things we can do to bring our children joy and forget that we are in a pandemic, even if just for one night. We talked in depth about trick or treating in our communities and ways to hand out candy to other children that allow us to continue practicing COVID-19 good habits.

We also talked about other ways to celebrate Halloween that can build new traditions within our families: think pumpkin decorating, Halloween-themed meals, and candy scavenger hunts. And of course, we covered things that are absolute “must avoids” where your risks are even greater. Watch the video for even more great tips.

Dr. Christina Johns is Sr. Medical Advisor for PM Pediatrics and a practicing pediatric urgent care physician. Follow her at @drcjohns on twitter, Facebook: @DrChristinaJohns and
