Happy Friday! I think spring has finally arrived. I am looking forward to not wearing a winter coat every day and not layering my daughter in several layers of clothes for school. As a working mommy on the go, I am always hunting for beauty products that will expedite my morning routine and keep me looking fabulous the entire day. Here are few of my latest beauty finds and other faves.

Maybelline Superstay Matte Lip Ink. I first tried this last December. Now I have four colors. The ink doesn’t budge with beverages (no lipstick stains on glasses or cups) and holds up through a plate of pasta with minimal fading. The ink comes in an array of colors from various shades of nude to neon pink and bright red. It retails for $11.99 and is available for purchase at most major drugstore chains.
Garnier SkinActive Facial Mist Spray with Rose Water, I love, love this brand. I use at least four of their products on daily basis. They contain minimal ingredients and make my skin glow. My latest find is this mist with rose water. Facial mists refresh the skin without ruining your makeup and just feel good, like that cool water mist that sprays in Las Vegas in the summer. I like using it the morning after I put on my foundation. The mist will also accompany me on my next work trips to combat the drying effects of airplane air.
Bobbi Brown Skin Long- wear Weightless Foundation. I think I have found the holy grail of foundation for us oily-combination skin girls. It’s oil-free, lightweight provides buildable coverage, and has sunblock to boot. I tested the foundation at a Sephora on a whim during my last work trip, because I had not used foundation since my daughter Ilse was born. It is pricier than its drugstore counterparts, but it is worth every penny. My skin looks flawless.
When I am not staying up-to-date on beauty products, I love watching a juicy, night-time soap opera like Scandal. Are you a Gladiator like me who cannot believe there are only TWO episodes left in the entire series? Will Olivia end up alone or with her beloved Fitz? I fell in love with the political nighttime soap opera after two seasons. Thankfully, there’s Netflix and that reboot of Dynasty to sink my teeth into. What night-time soaps do you watch?
Cherry Blossom Festival: It’s that time of year again! While our neighborhood cherry blossom trees have already bloomed, check out this annual festival in Japantown. Don’t drive. Take public transportation or Uber. There are activities for the whole family and lots of good eating.
